The Icebergs by Frederick Edwin Church used to be on the No Photography list.
This is a Triptych of a series of images of an empty barrel vault and adjacent galleries at the Dallas Museum of Art. This is a rare sight and usually can be seen only once a year after the Beaux Art Ball held late in April.

This past Friday I experimented with a German recipe for wienerschnitzel. I served it with German Potato Salad and Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage.
In the last 15 minutes of light I headed out to the front pasture to photograph the most recent filly foal which was born last week. I caught her running to her dam.

In the 19th Century, photographic portraiture was a very different process than today. In order to get a good image, the subject had to sit very still for up to a minute to avoid motion blur. Instead of the ISO of 400+ we have now with our digital portraits, the colloidal glass "Film" was rated about ASA 1. To demonstrate the time required to sit still for such a portrait, we had our video portrait taken to see of we had what it takes to keep a straight face. In this "out take" Chuck D'Arcy sits for his video portrait by artist of the month, Romie Faienza. After taking the portraits, we viewed them to see if we passed the stillness test. After this experiment we went to a lecture and demonstration of colloidal glass plate photography by France Scully Osterman.

I took some more baby photos of Toby Sunday evening. He is 2 weeks old now and getting more independent. He was very interested in what I was doing with that camera and came too close to focus several times.
One of the highlights of this snowing spring debut, was photographing these two Vizsla siblings having one of their practically endless play fights.
Although it may seem a bit intense, they always end up laying together while resting afterward.
The Male dog is Remy, he has the collar. Kiwi is the female without a collar (because Remy removes it within a few days).
Yep, I woke up to find 2 inches of snow on my truck and it was still snowing. It had snowed all night. The drive to the ranch was a bit challenging on the bridges, but once I got there it was quite a sight. By the end of the day the temperature had crept up to 42 degrees F but the wind was brisk, The snow had melted leaving just a few patches where it had drifted or piled in the shadows.

This foal was born last Thursday (1 week old on Saint Pats Day). The dam here is watching me as a photograph her filly. While I was photographing this foal, the other resident of the pasture, a mare named Unquestionable Twist, was tugging at my collar and licking the back of my neck.
